Shake it up: Bali part 2!

22 Jul

Another late post from my trip to Bali! I had never heard of Johnny Rockets before, but Taygan & Eli were telling us about it so we had to check it out. I’m not sure what all other Johnny Rockets are like but the one in Kuta was so much fun! All the staff greet you with a big, loud “Welcome to Johnny Rockets!” when you arrive, and say farewell when you leave and whilst we were there they even did a dance and sing-a-long to Shake it up by The Cars. I do have a video that I will try my best to upload but at the moment it doesn’t want to upload for me.  This was probably the most “western” outing that we did while we were in Bali!

Also the burgers and sweet potato fries were soooooo delicious!!!

How delicious does everything look? The sweet potato fries were so yummy, I wish there was a Johnny Rockets in Melbourne, although then I would be at least 10 kilos heavier. 20140722-191730-69450128.jpg

Kokomo, well Bali: part 1

22 Jul

Okay so it isn’t Kokomo, but it was BALI!!!

Last week I came home from a weeks holiday in Kuda. I really didn’t want to come home, I love the Balinese people and I love Bali, I think I could happily live there for a few months at a time. Next time I would like to spend some time away from Kuda and all the crazy tourist and people trying to sell you a thousand pairs of sunglasses.

There will be a couple more posts to follow but for now her are my cute bathers that I had been dying to wear all year and an Indonesian farmers hat that I found adorable.

Sunset over the beach, take me back!

One of the breakfast options at our hotel. Banana pancakes & fresh fruit. SO YUMMY

We took a little trip to Seminyak for an afternoon and I was mostly really disappointed. I love going to another country for their food, culture and lifestyle and although Kuda is also very tailored for tourists I found Seminyak that much more Westernised and very tailored for the more ritzy tourist.

I really liked the organic Earth café and I had a berry juice which was delicious! If I had of been hungry I would have liked to have had a meal there. Maybe next time!

We went searching for a temple and took an epic long walk along the beach and got a little lost, but if we hadn’t of done that we wouldn’t have found the Potato Head Beach club which is really just like any other big hotel but on the out side its covered in old coloured vents! I originally thought they were window shutters but after some debate and closer inspection I think they are vents. We ended up doing a big circle and finally found the temple, which was like other temples I had already visited in Bali and I think I was more impressed with the coloured vents.

Also never knew John Stamos was in this film clip! He is such a babe! He has been my crush since I was old enough to know what a crush was.

Don’t Worry Baby.

Does anyone else find it ridiculously hard to think of blog post titles? Maybe it’s my lack of creativity but I spend half my time trying to think of a title. So I have decided to go back to my song title, titles. I always have a couple of songs that I can’t get out of my head so I may as well put them to use. Yesterdays song was: Don’t Worry Baby by the lovely and adorable Beach Boys. This song always used to remind me of My Girl, I’m not sure if it was in the first or the second movie, but they were my FAVOURITE movies growing up!

Like typical Australian weather, it’s now Autumn but with beautiful Summer days! I’m ready to start wearing all my cosy warm jumpers and its 25 – 30 degrees again. Make up your mind stupid weather! 20140304-205222.jpg

I found this cute ‘S’ necklace at the OpShop not long ago, Obviously I had to buy it considering my lovely boyfriends name is Stewart.

Stew and I are both trying to get healthy and fit. I have suggested that every night or at least every couple of nights we go for a walk together. That way we are doing some exercise and spending some quality time together away from our phones, iPads, the TV and all the other technology that takes away from conversation!

I had to post these because I was so happy with my latte art yesterday at the café. Now I just have to make sure that every coffee I make looks this good!!

It’s hard to tell from the picture but this deerhound, Hana, is up to my hips! I also have fairly long legs so she is over a meter tall!! She was so friendly and adorable, I used to be really scared of big dogs but she had the most amazing temperament.

Thats all for this morning.

Dress: Dotti // Jacket: Somewhere in Europe but ASOS have similar styles // Tights: Tuck // Boots: Made in Bali // Bag: Gift // Sunglasses: Ray Bans

On grey, dull days, everyone needs a bright coloured item to perk up their mood and outfit!

This jacket can be used in both my winter and summer wardrobes as it’s fairly light and perfect for layering. It also folds up into barley nothing that fits easily in my bag. Exactly what you need in Melbourne’s ever changing weather!
