It’s my Party

22 Sep

The last out dated catch up post and then I will be back to real time posts. This last few months has been ridiculously crazy.

I am now a single lady. I won’t go into all the details but this means I am currently house sitting for a lady I know and will be moving into my friend Hannah’s house in a couple of weeks.

But this post is about my Birthday which was two months ago in July. Yes thats how bad I have been at updating my blog!

Hannah & I decided we would attend the ‘Kyneton Mid winters ball’, it was supposed to be a 1920’s inspired night but it was more a combination of 1920’s and 1940’s. We were hoping that it would be a night where we could meet a lot of new people from the town and make some more friends here but it wasn’t a very large turn out and the people that were there kept to themselves.

It had so much potential but just didn’t get there. I think it would have been a lot more fun if we went in a big group.
I had a dress made in Bali that was from a 1940s pattern I found and I absolutely love it. It reminds me of a wedding dress but black and I wish I had more places to wear it! I also borrowed Hannah’s late Nanna’s fur stole to complete the look.

The best photo I got of the dress just had to be a bathroom selfie. The shame!

Some silly but fun photos of Hannah & I

The Monkees: Bali part 3!

15 Aug

My third and final post on Bali! I had this all written up over a month ago and then soooo much has happened in the last month (updates to follow) that I haven’t had a chance to get on a computer to edit and fix it up, but here it is!

So the main reason for our getaway to Bali was to celebrate my friend, Tamryn’s 21st. We were  also there three years ago for her 18th!
We headed to the same Karaoke restaurant that we celebrated at last time but unfortunately it was NOTHING like the first time we were there, they didn’t even have the karaoke set up! The night was saved however when we went to a bar a little further down the road, and the same lady that organised and set up Tams party last time was working there and remembered us all!! They stayed open just for us, made as ridiculously strong Long Island ice teas and other ridiculously strong cocktails, let us plug in our own iPhones and play what ever music we wanted. It didn’t take long at all for the Disney songs to come out and we danced and sang all night. (well I actually went home about 3am but it was almost all night)

A couple of days later we had a day trip to do white water rafting .. I was very hesitant but I actually did it and it was lots of fun, I have no photos as I didn’t take my phone. but then we went to my favourite place… The monkey forest!!! They are just so adorable and cute and I wanted to keep one or an entire family!

Monkey Family!!

Something else amazing that happened in Bali was my new tattoo!!
I went to Lady rose and July did such an amazing job, I am so incredibly happy with it. I sent him through a pic of the basic idea and my thoughts and within an hour he had sent me back a a sketch and nothing needed changing I loved it straight away. I will defiantly be going back to get more from him, plus for the 4 hours that it took it was ridiculously cheap! I felt like I was ripping him off. He is very talented.

The finished product!

Shake it up: Bali part 2!

22 Jul

Another late post from my trip to Bali! I had never heard of Johnny Rockets before, but Taygan & Eli were telling us about it so we had to check it out. I’m not sure what all other Johnny Rockets are like but the one in Kuta was so much fun! All the staff greet you with a big, loud “Welcome to Johnny Rockets!” when you arrive, and say farewell when you leave and whilst we were there they even did a dance and sing-a-long to Shake it up by The Cars. I do have a video that I will try my best to upload but at the moment it doesn’t want to upload for me.  This was probably the most “western” outing that we did while we were in Bali!

Also the burgers and sweet potato fries were soooooo delicious!!!

How delicious does everything look? The sweet potato fries were so yummy, I wish there was a Johnny Rockets in Melbourne, although then I would be at least 10 kilos heavier. 20140722-191730-69450128.jpg

Kokomo, well Bali: part 1

22 Jul

Okay so it isn’t Kokomo, but it was BALI!!!

Last week I came home from a weeks holiday in Kuda. I really didn’t want to come home, I love the Balinese people and I love Bali, I think I could happily live there for a few months at a time. Next time I would like to spend some time away from Kuda and all the crazy tourist and people trying to sell you a thousand pairs of sunglasses.

There will be a couple more posts to follow but for now her are my cute bathers that I had been dying to wear all year and an Indonesian farmers hat that I found adorable.

Sunset over the beach, take me back!

One of the breakfast options at our hotel. Banana pancakes & fresh fruit. SO YUMMY

We took a little trip to Seminyak for an afternoon and I was mostly really disappointed. I love going to another country for their food, culture and lifestyle and although Kuda is also very tailored for tourists I found Seminyak that much more Westernised and very tailored for the more ritzy tourist.

I really liked the organic Earth café and I had a berry juice which was delicious! If I had of been hungry I would have liked to have had a meal there. Maybe next time!

We went searching for a temple and took an epic long walk along the beach and got a little lost, but if we hadn’t of done that we wouldn’t have found the Potato Head Beach club which is really just like any other big hotel but on the out side its covered in old coloured vents! I originally thought they were window shutters but after some debate and closer inspection I think they are vents. We ended up doing a big circle and finally found the temple, which was like other temples I had already visited in Bali and I think I was more impressed with the coloured vents.

Also never knew John Stamos was in this film clip! He is such a babe! He has been my crush since I was old enough to know what a crush was.

Catch up posts: That’s Alright (Mama)

21 Jul

Once again I have been on a blog writing hiatus. I keep letting myself get distracted and time slips away from me. Discipline has never been my biggest strength; hopefully one day I can improve that.

A couple of weeks ago I attended a fundraising function with my family, for a charity called Artist for Orphans. It’s a wonderful charity that helps Orphans in Vietnam. The night was great and from what I have been told so far, very successful for the charity. Mark Andrew; a very talented impersonator; was there doing his Legends showcase, that involves Elvis, Austin Powers, Tom Jones and Dean Martin to name a few. I have never been a real fan of impersonators for some reason but I really enjoyed his act!

My Grandma who I also renamed when I was little to Dane.

I also won this super cute hate with a lightbulb in the door prize.

Wedding Crashers

14 Apr

Sometimes I think I need a day off from my days off. I could have my 5 working days, 2 days off and then an extra day to get all my other personal jobs done. Since starting back at Uni I just haven’t been able to find the time to post or to get any photos taken, then last week I had a nasty fall during a pretty big night out and my face was a little beaten and bruised, I looked like a junkie that had been bashed by her crazy boyfriend. My face has almost healed so I will be taking some more outfit photos soon, but here is one from a few weeks ago when I had 2 weddings on the same day!

They were both friends of Stew’s and it was impossible to go to both ceremonies as they were a couple of hours away from each other and one started at 3 and the other at 4 . So we went to the first ceremony and then went to the other’s reception. I felt rude being at someones reception eating their food and drinking their alcohol when I hadn’t been at the ceremony but the Groom had said it was fine but I still felt really bad.

I didn’t get a chance to get any good photos of my hair  and I was really proud of my efforts! I still don’t know how or what I did but it worked out better than I was expecting! These sort of show it in more detail and also how excited I was that I had a beer!

Confession: Liebster Award

12 Mar

Taygan nominated me for the  Liebster Award, which is given by bloggers to other bloggers who have less than 200 followers.

The rules are:

You must answer the 11 questions set by the blogger who nominated you.

You yourself then pick 11 blogs who in turn have under 200 followers.

You must then think of 11 questions for the blogs you have picked and also tell them.

You must link back to the blog that nominated you.

Write 11 facts about yourself

I’m supposed to pass it on to other bloggers and make up my own set of questions but I am yet to make many “blogger friends” so I am going to be bad and break that chain for now, but when I have had more time to find other blogs and make friends I promise to pass it on then. For now I thought it would still be fun to answer some questions about myself because if you know me you would know I am a little vein and love talking about myself 🙂

Taygan’s questions were as follows:
If you could be any kind of animal, what would you be?
When I was little I always used to say Dolphin because at that time Dolphin’s were all the rage and everyone seemed to love them so naturally I had to love them too because I didn’t have a single unique thought back then.  When I got older I still said Dolphin because by then learnt how cool they were and that they were also the only other mammal that had sex for pleasure, so me being me had to use that as my reason.*cough SKANK*
Now, I have no idea. I love rabbits, but I wouldn’t want to be one because they don’t make sounds so how would I talk to my fellow rabbits, plus all the big animals try to eat me. I wouldn’t mind being a cat because they lay around being lazy and sleepy all day but I would have to wait for my owner to feed me and that would annoy me. I think I would want to be a Leopard, because I would have a sweet outfit on all the time, still have characteristics like a cat but would be in the wild and free to do what I want.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I have 28 and a half pairs of shoes. The half being that I left a shoe at Taygan’s house the other week and have still yet to get it back, so I have one shoe who is all alone in my wardrobe with no friends just missing his better half.* Plus I have a bag that has about 10 pairs of shoes in it that I keep forgetting to take to the op-shop and I have a pair of shoes on the way from eBay 🙂
*Since I started writing this Taygan has returned my shoe to me. Yay
 Scary movie or Rom-Com?
Rom-Com for sure. My mind is already way to crazy for scary movies and I have really weird and vivid life like dreams enough as it is. I don’t really even watch scary movies at all because I don’t sleep.
I have loved Rom-Coms since I was probably to young to be watching a Rom-Com. It has what has most likely distorted my reality on what a real relationship is like (Sorry Stew).
Do you have a special talent?
So I started writing this the other day before work and then ran out of time to finish all the answers. My first reply to this question was that I don’t and that my special talents include: starting projects and never finishing them and getting bruises all over my legs without knowing how or feeling anything. I kept thinking about this the last couple of days and I do have a special talent and it is what I like to call being a Chameleon. I have been saying this for a few years now but I some how have developed the talent at being able to fit into almost all social situations. I can make friends with almost anyone regardless of age or sex etc.
Are you a collector of anything?
Yes, I am a collector of lots of crap! Stationary, Rabbit things, Beanies, lipsticks, headbands, notebooks & diaries. I am also trying slowly to collect the entire Classic Disney DVD’s and all of the Penguin Clothbound Classics. I will get there eventually.
What do you think is your best feature (physical or otherwise)?
I think my boobs and my eyes. Also my ability to forgive people really quickly. I hate having issues or conflict, life is too short.
 Why do you blog?
I started to blog because I needed something to do, I needed a hobby. I keep cotinuing to blog because it’s a creative outlet for me. I like being able to write and post some random crap and then be able to look back on it. I don’t even mind if no one else reads it or enjoys it as long as I do.
Where is the farthest you have ever travelled?
England and Europe
What is your favourite outfit you have posted on your blog?
I think it would be a couple.
I really liked the outfit in my post Don’t Back Down I liked my hair and my dress and it made me feel really confident.
I also love the outfit in Holiday. I wear this outfit a lot, its super cute and I love the colours.
If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Blog, create, sew & read.
Who is your favourite super hero?
I was never big on super heroes growing up, Im more a disney girl. But I guess my fav would have to be Batman. I’m not really sure why but I definitely know and understand more of the Batman story than any of the others. Plus i do like Christian Bale and George Clooney so that helps. I also like Thor. but again thats more because of the actor that plays him.
11 Facts about myself.
I have 2 webbed toes on either foot. I used to be really embarrassed by them and I actually tried to cut on when i was younger. it was gross and blood was everywhere. Now i like to scar the crap out of people with them. Once I put them in someone’s face when we were in a car and the actually jumped out of the car while it was still moving. ( we were pulling over so we were going pretty slow) I also learnt only a few years ago that it’s hereditary and my dad and his mother have/had them too.
On my mum’s side I’m an only child and only grandchild. I have a ridiculously close relationship with my grandparents. My grandma especially. She really is my best friend. I think I tell her all most everything except for conversations about sex, but even that she knows what’s going on. I don’t think growing up I was ever spoilt like everyone expects me to be as an only child, I wasn’t a brat and was well behaved but they all do everything for me  and I was the centre of my only universe.
I have two younger half siblings. When I was 21, my dad and his wife had a baby boy, Robbie and 2 years later had a baby girl, Charlie.
For years I played saxophone and only gave it up because my friends used to tease me and it wasn’t ‘cool’. I wish I never did because I was really good and who knows I could have been in some awesome band playing the Sax by now, which kind of leads into the next fact about me..
I wish I was in a band. It’s been my dream since I can remember. I wish I could sing but I am terrible, so my next best thing would be playing guitar, which I am still yet to learn but I am determined in the next year to be able to play guitar.
I am really forgiving. I can forgive almost anyone and everyone no matter what. I always like to see the best in people. I hate holding grudges and I hate not getting along with people. The only reason I’m not friends with someone any more is because they have an issue with me, if they called me up and wanted a coffee I would be there in a heart beat. Life is too short to be petty and hold grudges and it makes life so much more enjoyable when you are happy and see the positives in people and forget the negative.
I love taking selfies. I have been taking selfless since before it was even known as a selfie. I had perfected where to hold the camera even when I was only using  my mum’s film camera. You can imagine how excited I was to get my first digital camera and then to have a phone with a front facing camera!!
I love Taylor Swift. I could listen to her all day. I want her to be my friend and I’m not at all ashamed to tell everyone.
I sometimes think that feminists took it to far, I like that women have equal rights and I do think our lives are better for it today, but what about those women who wanted to stay at home and raise a family, they are looked down on by a lot of people if thats their goal in life. I want to have at least three kids and raise them and sew clothes and have mothers club meetings and then when they are old go on holidays with my husband and wait for the grandchildren, if and when I have kids I really don’t want to work again.
I don’t really like seafood. I eat calamari and some fish or flake from the fish and chip shop but everything else freaks me out, When i was little i used to eat fish fingers only because my mum and grandma told me they were made from potato and as soon as I found out the truth I wouldn’t eat them ever again.
I always thought the words to MMMbop were ” When you get all stars in your hair” when it really is ”  when you get old and start losing your hair”
Those kids where really smart for tiny boys these lyrics are actually pretty deep!
You have so many relationships in this life
Only one or two will last
You go through all the pain and strife
Then you turn your back and they’re gone so fast
Oh yeah
And they’re gone so fast, yeah
So hold on the ones who really care
In the end they’ll be the only ones there
And when you get old and start losing your hair
Tell me who will still care
Can you tell me who will still care?
Oh care
So thats it. I will at some stage pass it on and make up questions for others.

I tend to always wear dresses but I never really wear maxi dresses. I have had this one in my wardrobe for a while now so I thought I would give it a try. It passed the test for work at the Café.The whole outfit looked a lot better before work but I only managed to get a photo at the end of the day, sorry!

I can’t help myself. I had to share some more photos of my boys. They are just so adorable.

Don’t Worry Baby.

4 Mar

Does anyone else find it ridiculously hard to think of blog post titles? Maybe it’s my lack of creativity but I spend half my time trying to think of a title. So I have decided to go back to my song title, titles. I always have a couple of songs that I can’t get out of my head so I may as well put them to use. Yesterdays song was: Don’t Worry Baby by the lovely and adorable Beach Boys. This song always used to remind me of My Girl, I’m not sure if it was in the first or the second movie, but they were my FAVOURITE movies growing up!

Like typical Australian weather, it’s now Autumn but with beautiful Summer days! I’m ready to start wearing all my cosy warm jumpers and its 25 – 30 degrees again. Make up your mind stupid weather! 20140304-205222.jpg

Dress & Necklace: Thrifted // Socks: CottonOn // Bag & Sunglasses: eBay // Shoes: Ruby

I found this cute ‘S’ necklace at the OpShop not long ago, Obviously I had to buy it considering my lovely boyfriends name is Stewart.

Stew and I are both trying to get healthy and fit. I have suggested that every night or at least every couple of nights we go for a walk together. That way we are doing some exercise and spending some quality time together away from our phones, iPads, the TV and all the other technology that takes away from conversation!

I had to post these because I was so happy with my latte art yesterday at the café. Now I just have to make sure that every coffee I make looks this good!!

It’s hard to tell from the picture but this deerhound, Hana, is up to my hips! I also have fairly long legs so she is over a meter tall!! She was so friendly and adorable, I used to be really scared of big dogs but she had the most amazing temperament.

Thats all for this morning.

1 Mar

A quick outfit post from the other night. Stew and I went down to Melbourne to see Skyways are Highways play again. I had Thursday off work so I had just a little bit of time to get ready and decided to try a beehive. It somehow worked out really well. I was immersed with the height!
